We have a number of visits due to the hospital this week. This means more scans (the previous scan was clear (pelvis and abdomen) – another good result), we’ll also have a discussion about radiotherapy, and additionally a small metal coil will be inserted into the tumour to enable detection if the chemotherapy successfully reduces it. We were concerned to have no news on the chemotherapy. After a call to the chemotherapy unit who had no record of Nicola(?) we finally have a date for the first session which’ll be next week.
A note of thanks to Andy & Clare for entertaining us on Saturday night – despite us being lousy company. They make a mean vegetable curry. The margarita sealed it though.
Also thanks to big sis for keeping us on the straight and narrow yesterday. You’ve some huge medical bills to pay to your consultant Esme.
Good luck this week – I think it is best to get as many appts possible out of the way in a short period of time, and that is going to have to be my “Always look on the bright side” song of the day
Down to business: my parents will be over from the States from the 8th to the 17th of Sept, but after that I am all yours! Upcoming films I would like to see are:
The Women (Comedy, Meg Ryan et al)
The Duchess (historical drama, Keira Knightley & Ralph Fiennes… swooooon)
Faintheart (silly comedy with a bunch of unknowns)
Brideshead Revisited (self explanatory, Emma Thompson)
The Rocker (we saw the preview before Dark Knight and laughed a lot)
Burn After Reading (Comedy, star studded cast)
Quantum of Solace (007, Daniel Craig just for you, try not to drool)
So there you go! Browse away at the official movie websites and let me know which ones you fancy! If there are any others you would like to see that I have missed, let me know of those too. Oh, and next one’s on you, so I will bring the brownies (approx. 5,000,000 calories in each to keep your strength up
)
Also, just because my folks are over, doesn’t mean I’m not here if you need anything else! I am always here. Sad really. I ought to get a life…

My curry induced flatulence was just about reaching socially acceptable levels. But a serving of leftover curry has seen to that. And there is still at least one server left in the fridge.

Hi guys,
If you need any school runs (either picking up from you or picking up from school and delivering to you) then let me know. Happy to do either way (or both) if that helps to take a load off.
Also would love Esme to come to tea soon – is there any day that suits you best – maybe when you need a bit more time and space? As you know the sleepover idea with Lydia turned into a Pyjama party so very happy to do the same for Esme if she’s up for that.
If there’s anything else we can do here then just give us a call or drop us a line. It’s worth it just for the “muddy bottom” picture of Tristan on the blog alone!
